Draw has been made for the quarter final and semi finals of this years Champions League.

Champions League quarter-final draw:
1 Arsenal v Liverpool
2 AS Roma v Man Utd
3 Schalke 04 v FC Barcelona
4 Fenerbahce v Chelsea

Champions League semi-final draw:
Arsenal/Liverpool v Fenerbahce/Chelsea
Schalke/Barcelona v  Roma/Man Utd

Interesting and somehow I just knew that there would be one all English tie. Call me a cynic but I doubt UEFA would have let the situation develop where they had 4 English Clubs in the Semi's.

Well I'll got out on a limb and predict the following

Liverpool see off Arsenal and then beat Chelsea again in the Champions League.

Man United lose the first leg in Rome but bounce back to meet Barcelona only to lose to a Thierry Henry goal 8 minutes into injury time.

Barca beat the Scousers through a Pepe Reina own goal.

Well with this draw it prevents the possibility of an English team going through fropm each leg and having an all English semis and final.

I agree that the only non-English team that looks likely to get through are Barcelona but there are too many things that can go wrong that I would not venture a prediction on the final lineup.

I have a sneaky feeling about Roma this year as well. They're much improved compared to earlier in the season.

They are 2nd in Serie A and playing well. Could be the outsider from an English point of view.

And the fact that I'm a City fan has no bearing on the fact I'd like them to win!

First of the semi--finals was decided last night. Chelsea over turned a deficit to go through. Didn't watch that game.
I did watch the Liverpool - Arsenal game which was cracker. Some great goals - Torres is a fantastic player. And the run from Walcott reminded me of Owen in 1998.

Obviously the turning point was the penalty which IMHO was NEVER a penalty; it was was a coming together and a bit of tangle and it was very harsh to be judged a penalty. Arsenal were denied a penalty last week that was more clear cut and I can undertsand how frustrated Wenger must be.

Liverpool v Chelsea then - any predictions? .....and no doubt our resident Liverpool fan will be tipping the reds to win it all.... again....

Saw some of the Liverpool game and it looked exciting. They do seem to turn it on for the European games. Do feel a bit sorry for Arsenal though.

Can you imagine the hype here if 2 premiership teams got to the final? Say Utd v Liverpool....

Braca and United should win there ties tonight which means 3 English teams and 1 Catalan side......

Phew a bit of a squaker last night but glad we are through. Not much to choose between the two sides over both games. The two penalty desicions went both in Liverpool's favour and could both have gone the other way but these things happen and you have to get on with it. (I think Karmically the Raiders bad referee desicions balance out liverpools good ones in the grand scheme so). Last night's pen was close fabregas tugged Babel outside the area and pulled him offbalance then Toure's almost neglible contact was just enough to send him over. That's my story and I'm sticking to it  Grin

As to the Chelsea game we will have played them 8 times in the last 4 years in the Champions league alone (inc this year) so we know each other pretty well and no game has had more than 1 goal in it so it will be close. We are better with Torres than previous meetings so I am more confident than before about getting a result which probably means we will lose.

You did ok the last few years without Torres...and both City and the Raiders get bad calls. Either that or I'm a jinx.
